Masters TV to Video 2008 Arby's Classic Basketball Tournament

Masters Entertainment Group President, Ted Jones, announced today that the Bristol, Tennessee based television
company will once again video tape the Arby's Classic Basketball Tournament on Comcast Sports Southeast.  This 2 hour
television special will be cablecast on January 6, 2009 in 9p.m. eastern time.

Jones went on to explain, " We need two ours because we cover highlights from some of the better games throughout the
week and then cover the final championship game play by play, and we also cover the slam dunk and 3 point shooting
contest at half time.

The Arby's Classic always has some of the greatest high school talent in the world, many of whom go on to College and NBA
fame.

Here is the lineup for this years event:

The field for the 2008 Arby’s Classic is loaded with outstanding teams.  The field includes the seventh ranked player in the
country and two others that are ranked in the top 50 in the United States.  Two State Champions, Briarcrest Christian
Academy of Tennessee and Summerville High School of South Carolina will be taking part in this year’s Arby’s.

2008 Visiting Teams:
•        
Bearden High School – Knoxville, TN – Finished the year with a record of 30-4 and was ranked 3rd in the state.  
They have 4 returning starters that are 6’9”, 6’7”, and 6’6”.
•        
Benedictine High School – Cleveland, OH – Finished the year with a 19-6 record in a very tough league.
•        Boyd H. Anderson High School – Lauderdale Lakes, FL – Had a 30-2 record and was ranked number one in the state.  
They lost in the State Finals.
•       
 Briarcrest Christian Academy – Eads, TN – Defending Arby’s Classic Champions.  Features Leslie McDonald, the
seventh ranked player in the country.  They finished with a record of 23-9.
•        
Bryan Station High School – Lexington, KY – Finished the season as the 2nd ranked team in Kentucky with a record
of 31-3.  They have a 6’10” transfer that will make them very sound this season.
•        
Dr. Michael M. Krop High School – Miami, FL – Finished the year with a 22-4 record.  They return 4 starters.  Dr.
Krop was the 2006 Arby’s Classic Champion.
•        
Louisville Male High School - Louisville, KY -  Finished the year with a  22-7 record and was ranked 7th in the
state.  They were Arby’s Classic Champions in 1986 and 2000.
•        
Miller Grove High School – Lithonia, GA – Finished the year with a 26-6 record.  They lost in the State Semi-Finals
and have returning starter Mfon Udofia who averaged 25ppg.
•        
Monsignor Pace High School – Miami, FL – They were State Champions three of the last five years and finished
last year with a 22-9 record.  Features Rheem Buckles, a 6’8” power forward who has committed to University of Louisville.
•        
Summerville High School – Summerville, SC – Won the 2008 State Championship and had a record of 20-3.
•        
Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy – Freeport, Grand Bahamas – Six time National Champions of the
Bahamas.  A fan favorite of the Arby’s Classic.

2008 Local Teams:
•        
Dobyns-Bennett High School – Kingsport, TN – Reached Elite Eight while having a 30-4 record.  Returning 4 very
good players.
•        
Gate City High School –Gate City, VA – One of the top teams in Southwest Virginia.  Had a 19-7 record and reached
the State Tournament.  Has the top guard in the area in Tyler Anderson.
•        
Greeneville High School – Greeneville, TN – Had a 23-10 record and was a Regional Semi-finalists.
•        
Science Hill High School – Johnson City, TN – Had a record of 26-10 while reaching the Sub-state and returns 4
starters.
•        
Sullivan East High School – Bluff City, TN – Regional Qualifier.
•       
 Tennessee High School – Bristol, TN – Finished with an record of 18-13 and an appearance in the Regional
Tournament.  Returning 3 starters.
•        
Twin Valley High School – Pilgrims Knob, VA – Lost in State finals and returning 4 starters.
